5Lens Set Enhances Camcorder ImagingFeb 28, 2010
By Brian M. Roth
The wide angle and telephoto lens set enhance the imaging capactity of the camcorder by at least an order of magnitude. This is an ideal addition to your camcorder accessory kit. If you want to acquire UV and Polarizing filters for these lenses you need to purchase 62 MM filters or more readily available 58 MM filters and a 62 to 58 MM stepdown ring.Wide Angle & Telephoto lens for SANYO Xacti VPC-HD1000 VPC-HD2000 VPC-HD1010

The overall quality of these lens are very good. Would recommend them to a friend.

My only con:
The telephoto lens can be seen when you are not zoomed in on some cameras.

4Works great with a few caveatsDec 05, 2011
By Rob Poptic
I love using the wide angle lens with my Xacti 1000 - it really helps to get the whole family in frame so that you're not panning all over the place and it doesn't distort the picture. Be aware - the lens is large and heavy. It makes the camera front-heavy enough that it won't balance on my mini tripod anymore, and you can't stand the camera upright on its base - it sits face down on the lens, which is OK, because the glass is recessed in the housing. Due to the size, it obstructs the flash such that the bottom half of stills taken with the flash are very dark. You can screw the lens off in a few seconds to shoot a still with the flash, but it's something to keep in mind. I don't know how much you can reduce the size of the lens without increasing distortion, so I don't really count the size against the lens - it's just the way it is. Finally, the lens cover is quite flimsy and rarely stays on - it comes with a drawstring bag which is a better means of protection if you want to keep the lens covered.
