This little camera is a incredible buy. The user has an unprecedented amount over control over almost every aspect of image capture. All the settings can be made truly manual. I would never have thought this from a camera not made by the big three; Sony, Panasonic or Canon. There is very few aspects this camera has left out i even like the idea that it has a traditional lens cap not the auto ones that so often break down.
Highly recommended for the amateur who wishes to expand his knowledge of how various manual settings affect the image. 5 stars!

I had been looking for a video camera for quite some time. I was to primarily use it for creating promotional videos for my real estate business and also to record seminars where I am the speaker. I am pleasantly impressed with the ease of use and high quality images from this camera. I have one now for about six weeks and am truly delighted.
I went ahead and purchased the wide angle and telephoto lens and those make a terrific addition and greatly enhance the versatility of the camera. I use the wide angle almost all the time. I used the telephoto a few times, but you definitely need a tripod or else your recording will end up being pretty shaky.
I like the option of being able to plug in an external microphone, thus my decision to purchase this model instead of the other. However, for my needs the internal microphone does a fine job. Granted my recordings are nothing complicated.
I edit the footage with iMovie on a mac and it is just like I want it; fast and very simple. I really don't have the time to work with complicated programs.
I have to say that the zoom is so fast that I avoid using it. This feature I do not like. It is rather difficult to control. Overall, for the price and after researching the options for over a year, I am very satisfied with my purchase. So much so that I am considering purchasing another one to shot video with two cameras and enhanced the quality of our in-house productions.

I bought this for my wife and so far she loves it. The one item we really both agree is lacking is the lens cover, even though it is trivial the cover pops off very easy. We have shot lots of videos and they are great. We have taken still photos and they look good on the tv but we have not printed any out yet. My wife is very electro nically challenged and thinks this video camera is very easy to use.
