Great Card! Super Fast for action burst mode.Oct 23, 2008
By Pookie I own 2 of these for about 5 months now. Have never had any problem losing pictures like the others indicated. I use Canon 40D and download onto my iMac OSX Leopard via a card reader(firewire). I do download the photos on the same day I shoot.
I take a lot of Hockey shots and I really need a fast, large card that can handle an entire game of many burst mode shots. I don't usually have to wait for the card to process/write between the multiple shots taken in burst mode. I shoot RAW, so 8GB is a must. I am going to get 2 more so I don't have to worry about forgetting to clear my cards in between few games.
Great price and quality for the money!!
Do NOT TRUST!Feb 26, 2010

Cheap for a reason.
I spent the last three days using every tool I have to recover the images from a trip to Hawaii. Final count was about 100 irretrievably lost images- and I used tools that cost thousands of dollars - I am an IT guy who does forensics. The card is now not formattable and shows only 6.5GB of space available.
No point in RMA'ing it as I don't want another Ridata card - unless they are including 4 round trip tickets to Maui.
RUN AWAY!
Excellent Card for "Beginner" DSLRsJun 22, 2009
By G. Barrax I purchased this card after my previous card suffered an untimely death. This card is twice the capacity of my old 4GB Kingston CF card and it is less than what the Kingston cost. The only catch? It has a much slower write speed.
I'm using a Rebel XTi which can only bang out 3 frames per second at 10MP resolution, so I can still get a good amount of images while bursting with this card. However if you have a 40/50D or a D300, you will want to look elsewhere. This card would not be able to keep up with the burst rates and higher resolution of those (and other prosumer/professional) cameras, so you would need a faster card like one of the Lexar UDMA CF Cards.
For me, it's 5 stars. Lots of room for a good price, and it works flawlessly.
Wonderful product/will keep buying this brandJun 21, 2009

Wonderful card that's not so fast (but fast enough) at a reasonable price.
I have a 4,8 and 16GB (all RiData) at 233x's, I'm a Pro, and the cards have worked quite well with not a single problem and thousands of shots.

You will lose your pictures!Sep 18, 2008
By Judge J Drhedd I got attracted by the 'Lightning Series' tag, thinking [wrongly] that it will somehow help me reach the max rated speed that I need when shooting bursts. I get 6 frames per second all right, but after you leave the camera unused for some time, with this cf card in it,, camera or card reader cannot read any more some of the pictures youve taken. The rate of unreadable pics is about 1 in 10.
I dont know if there are natural bad sectors in this cf card. I reformatted, but still the same rate of unreadable pictures. It varies in sequence (sometime 1 in 30 pics), but still in one session, youll be sure that there will be unreadable files.
Prepare to lose some of your pics when you buy and use this CF brand.
