Great performance! Bad battery location..Apr 18, 2010 I've used it twice on vacations to Scotland and England. Full 1080i i recordings. Does a great job in well lighten areas, not so good in poorly lit areas. I havent experienced any problems with this camcorder. It would be nice to have a hard drive instead of the DVD, but the SD cards work great and easy transfer to my Mac..The colors are vivid and detailed and its a bargan at it s price..
It also takes pretty descent stlll shots too! With a larger battery, its a little awkward, so design leaves a lot to be desired, but it will deliver excellent HD material.

Great little secretSep 30, 2009 I've owned this item for 2 years now and it has been really great.
I use it to shoot music videos and the quality of the sequences shot outdoors is very good and the colours are quite nice.
The battery life is excellent. Very easy to edit in Final Cut Express software.
The only cons are:
The depth of field is a bit tricky and not great even when you do get it to work. You could probably buy a lens for this.
It shoots very grainy in low light and requires professional lighting after sundown.
You can't move the camera fast at (eg. to do a sweeping landscape shot)- otherwise the images are grainy.

garbageDec 28, 2008 This only records to the dvd about 76% of the time, it does not even tell you that there is an errror. you don't find out after you try to watch it. I now have to buy a different one after spending $700 on this a year ago since we have missed to many events that we thought we recorded...but didn't.

Great for the priceJul 12, 2008 This camera works great and has spectacular HD quality. Low-light shooting is a bit of an issue with auto-focus, but overall it was an excellent buy for the price.
