Read first if you are considering this item.Dec 01, 2006
By F. Cavallaro This product is not compatible with several cell phones. I have the LG 8300 that I just purchased and after I put the card in the phone it stopped working. I called Kingston tech support and I just can't believe how they handled this situation. They are fully aware of the problem and have been aware since September. The card they have the trouble with is the 1GB (probably one of the most common purchased). The best thing was they are totally aware of the situation and they said there is nothing they could do about it at this time. If I returned the card under warranty they would give me an exact replacement which he mentioned would be useless to me until they discover the fix to this problem. You would think they would accomodate you with something different because of the trouble but I guess that would be too nice. He recommended I buy the Kingston 512 mb because he said that one would work. No thanks, Kingston is off my list and will keep it's reputation for selling junk. I do have emails out to Amazon, Eek Technology? (the merchant) and I am expecting a call from a Kingston Manager in the next day. I will post a follow up once I hear back. I just wanted everyone to be aware of this before they purchased. If you are still considering Kingston at least visit the site or call first to make sure your device is compatible.
Update: I talked to Kingston and it looks like they figured out the problem. They are saying the "controller" they were using for the card was bad. They recently changed manufacturer/supplier for that part of the card and have not experienced any complaints so they feel the problem is resolved. I received my new card and it works great. The guy I spoke to was very helpful. If you call them with the tiny number on the back of the micro card they will tell you if it is one of the cards with problems. If your card works for you than there is no need to call. They will exchange the card with one that works if yours was fried like mine.

five stars....so farDec 07, 2006

I bought this card for my Sansa MP3 player and it works just fine. I estimate the average read/write speed to be 50X-60X - more than good for the player (read) and transfers to the card (write) are fast enough to be painless.
The size is a mixed blessing - The good, this card is TINY! and weighs nothing!
The bad - It seems fragile (the manual warns to not squeeze it in the center, only handle it by the edges), I wonder how many insertion/removal cycles it can take.
It come with a microSD to SD card adapter which I have used in a card reader and in my DSLR with success, but I have installed it in my MP3 player and hope to leave it there (at least until the price comes down on the 2GB version!).
So far...so good.

works perfectly in my cell phone (Samsung A707)Jun 15, 2007
By Roy Gordon This card works perfectly in my Samsung A707 cell phone, aka the Cingular Sync.
It's worked perfectly in three of these phones.
The previous card, a Sandisk 1GB, did not work properly. Every time you powered on the phone you had to re-seat the Scandisk card for it to be recognized properly. Others reported having this problem in a number of forums, although Sandisk wasn't explicitly mentioned, I think.

Doesn't work with CU500 phoneFeb 19, 2007
By Ben Dash I ordered 2 of the 1GB Kingston microSD cards when I ordered my Cingular CU500 phones from Amazon, but they don't work in that phone. Buyer beware, there's are reason why the price is so low. They may work fine in other devices but not the CU500. I bough 2 1GB SanDisk microSD from a brick and mortar, so I could return them without shipping/restocking if they didn't work either, for 24.99 each and they work fine.

Do Not purchase for the LG CU500!Feb 18, 2007
By Shawn Silkk I bought two of these for my LG CU500 phones. The phone will not read the cards. From what I hear the only safe bet for the CU500 is the SanDisk.
