 Replacement battery for the JVC camcorderJul 21, 2008

This battery works great. The communication between the camcorder and the battery showed 260 minutes of recording time after fully charging it. I used it in my recent trip to Asia with no problem. Charged it several times during the trip and each time it reached 260 minutes max charge. I never had to worry about running out of battery power during a tour. For a fraction of the JVC battery price, this is a bargain!
Note that it is somewhat bulky - about 2" long - so it looks funny when attached to the camcorder. However, the 260 minutes of recording time make this a non-issue for me.

Well, unfortunately the battery stopped recharging last month (October). It worked well while lasted, but a mere 3 months of product life is not good at all. If I could change the rating, I will certainly downgrade it to 2 stars due to the reliability problem. Luckily it is not expensive and I certainly had shot lots of video during this period.

This battery arrived with about a 2/3rds charge and operated the camera fine. I charged it through the camera to a full charge and removed it for storage. 2 weeks later, the battery was fully discharged, and would not accept a charge.
Spend the extra money and get the JVC battery.

The battery Lasted only 2 months. Worked great while it lasted. The merchant I purchased it through had a 30 day return policy and would not help me in anyway with a replacement or reimbursement.

A fantastic battery! Keeping in mind that it's a bit bulky to work as well as it does, this is great because I have 5+ hours of camcorder operation rather than the measly 1 hour provided with the stock battery!
