replacement kindle cover (1st generation)Jul 26, 2010 this is the same cover that comes with the kindle when you buy it. I just lost mine. Word of caution. If you do not have the rubber band thing holding your kindle in when you read the kindle will fall out.
Attractive, slim coverJul 20, 2010 Liked this cover a lot. It's real leather. It's slim, fits well and stays on better than some of the covers. I like the wrap around elastic band. The only thing that would make it better is a card pocket on the inside front cover.
Works FineJul 10, 2010 I've had my Kindle since April of 2008 and my cover is looking a little frayed around the edges but otherwise holding up just fine--which is pretty good considering that I pretty much carry it with me everywhere I go. I mostly use it as a carrying case and generally prefer to hold the Kindle in my hand without the case when reading. Sometimes I read with it in the case but then I don't put the elastic around the Kindle I just use the inside corners to hold it in place. I don't know how others like to hold their books but for me it as been no issue. I generally hold a book with the spine in my palm and my finger slightly bent. I hold the kindle in its cover the same way and gravity keeps it in place. If I am going to read on the treadmill I use the elastic around the Kindle placed just to the right of the screen so it doesn't hide any text or the page turn button. I can see from the picture that maybe the elastic was meant to go over the cover but I have never done it that way. One suggestion: turn the Kindle on after the book is secured by the elastic, or you will turn pages while putting it in. Just secure it in place, pull it away from the back of the cover by stretching the elastic and reach behind and slide the on switch (and wireless switch if needed).
Works well as a cover for the Pocketbook 302May 13, 2010 This cover, unexpectedly, works rather well as a cover for another Ebook Reader: the Pocketbook 302. The dimensions are just about a perfect fit; I use the elastic strap to hold the device in place while reading. I have purchased a M-Edge leisure cover for my wife's Kindle 1, but I am very glad that I have found a new use for the original cover.
Adequate, not moreMay 13, 2010 The cover barely contains the Kindle.. the inner corners are at odd angles and a tiny bit too small to house the device. The elastic strap partialy covers the screen, I have to constantly move it to see the letters on the right side of the screen.
It is nice looking and the quality of the materials is quite good.. it just does not fit as well as it should.. but what can you expect for the low price.
